Pensive
Michael
was a beautiful, sensitive and profoundly
intelligent silverback gorilla, who shared
most of his 27 year life with Koko, communicated
with us in sign language (ASL), and produced
brilliant works of art. Unfortunately, Michael
passed away on April 19, 2000, but his memory
and inspiration live on.

 Dr.
Ron Cohn
has been taking photos of gorillas Koko, Michael
and Ndume for the past 30 years. He is probably
best known for his award-winning photos of
"Koko and Kitten" which graced the
1985 cover of National Geographic (and is
available on a large poster via KokoMart).
To raise both awareness about gorillas and
funds to ensure their survival, Dr. Cohn has
decided to make his gorilla photos available
here (exclusively) in a variety of formats
suitable for framing. |
