[title] => Koko enjoys Thanksgiving and anticipates the "next" holiday.
[body] => Like most of us, Koko can enjoy both the present and the future at the same time. For example, she participated in a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration at the Gorilla Foundation yesterday (and especially enjoyed the food), but is also aware of the upcoming holidays, and is beginning to think of presents (both for and from her).

And we at the Gorilla Foundation are very aware this time of year of how thankful we are for the vital support of people like you. Thank you! [title] => Koko (and Ndume) make out well at rummage sale!
[body] => Dr. Penny Patterson and a staff member scavenged the local rummage sale today looking for enrichment items for Koko (shown above) and Ndume - whose birthday (Oct. 10) is being celebrated this Sunday (Oct. 16).

The "catch" was quite impressive, and included a couple of colorful 1-gorilla tents, lots of beautiful pillows, stuffed animals, dolls (including the male version of Koko"s favorite doll: "waterbaby") and sporting items (basketball, soccerball and even some plastic snow saucers - the gorillas love to sit on them). It"s also interesting that (like humans) the "order" in which the gorillas eat the foods on their meal trays indicates their taste preferences - something we are beginning to track very carefully and correlate with nutritional content in a new USDA-based database being integrated with other databases at the Gorilla Foundation. Incidentally, tomorrow is the bi-annual rummage sale from which we usually find such gorilla gems and other enrichment items (toys, bedding, clothes etc.) so wish us continued success.
