Koko and Michael share their message in a new film
Koko and Michael told their story in "A Conversation with Koko," a documentary
that first aired on August 8, 1999, on PBS's "Nature." The program featured
never-before-seen archival film of the gorillas at TGF/Koko.org and - unlike other
documentaries - presented the story of Project Koko as told by Koko and Michael
themselves.
Throughout the documentary, Koko and Michael demonstrated to viewers their
thoughts and feelings, helping to change the way gorillas - and other animals - are
perceived by humans, and raise awareness of the plight of gorillas in the wild.
