The
"Monster Garage" TV show (on Discovery Channel)
featured Koko on a show hosted by Jesse James (June 14).
Jesse and the Monster Garage crew met the challenge of
solving a big problem for Koko and the Gorilla Foundation
— building and presenting Koko and the foundation
with a "GorillaMobile."
This uniquely equipped, bright red and colorfully decorated
machine will be used as a gorilla transport vehicle, both
here, and during the process of moving to the new Maui
Ape Preserve, when that becomes a reality. The above
photos show just how versatile this beautiful vehicle
is. The caged rear transport compartment can be hydraulically
lowered/lifted to allow Koko and Ndume to enter, and the
transport compartment extends partially into the front
seat, so that Koko can ride "shotgun," which
is her preference. Notice the beautifully painted image
of Ndume on the front hood, and the Gorilla Foundation's
personal monogram along the bottom and front moulding
(see photo below).
Monster Garage, we thank you for your gargantuan contribution
to our two gentle gorillas! |
