Koko, the famous sign language-using gorilla celebrates her
31st birthday on Thursday, July 4th. Originally named Hana-biko
("fireworks child" in Japanese), Koko enjoys a doubly exuberant
celebration with her long-time gorilla companion, Ndume, and
human mentors Drs. Penny Patterson and Ron Cohn. |
