Koko looks out from within her enclosure pondering the rest of the universe. Koko is well aware that gorillas in Africa are under constant threat of being poached and even consumed (illegally) as an expensive food source. She is also aware that the publicity she has generated through her mastery of sign language is changing attitudes and even behaviors. But the critical question is: will human attitudes and behaviors change fast enough to save gorillas from extinction?

You can help.
