Caregiver / Research Coordinator

Sasha is a recent graduate from Pomona College, where she studied Linguistics and Cognitive Science and became interested in animal language, behavior, and cognition.

She volunteered at a local animal shelter and interned at the McCowan Animal Behavior Laboratory for Welfare and Conservation at UC Davis where she did research on facial expression communication in rhesus macaques. She also conducted independent research on the communication of affective states in bottlenose dolphin vocalizations.

Sasha is excited to care for the wonderful Koko and Ndume and to help with conservation initiatives while participating in research at the Gorilla Foundation.
