This weekโs video (above) shows one of the sweetest examples of Kokoโs gentle nature. As I scratch Kokoโs back, her two cats โ Ms. Black and Ms. Grey โ sit close by on a pumpkin blanket.ย At one point, Ms. Grey extends her paw toward Kokoโs back, to join in the affection.
Koko naturally connected with others โ including humans, gorillas, and cats. Itโs a beautiful reflection of the empathy and compassion we all share when we take time to care for one another.
Thank you for helping us continue her legacy and support the care and protection of gorillas everywhere.
By the way, Ms. Grey and Ms. Black are currently living with one of Kokoโs favorite caregivers โ who continues to shower them with love and affection.
