Dear Friend,

As young gorillas living at Stanford, Koko and Michael were given many activities to choose from, and one of their favorites was riding in a little red wagon.

In the above footage, caregiver Ann Southcombe and I accompany them around campus as Ann pulls the wagon, while Koko and Michael climb in and out, roughhousing along the way.

At one point, Koko gives Michael a piggyback ride before they both hop back in for more fun. This glimpse into their early years captures their playful and energetic spirit.

A few years later, the gorillas would move to our Woodside Sanctuary.
