Dear  Friend,

Born on the 4th of July, Koko, whose full name was Hanabi-ko ("fireworks child" in Japanese) truly lived up to her name, and continues to change the world — in spirit, wisdom, and through her legacy: to teach the world to have more empathy for others!

To celebrate and advance Koko's legacy, this year we're launching our new Kids4Koko web app, for everyone (young or old) who wants to access the power of interspecies communication.

When you visit Kids4Koko (at koko.org) you'll learn how to sign (with Koko as your teacher), paint (with Koko and Michael as your guides), and you'll read about Koko's unique life and rich legacy.

Kids4Koko will also empower kids to help save gorillas from extinction, and, like Koko, to become a "Voice for Nature."

KIds4Koko Activities

We invite you to learn to sign with Koko, become a Voice for Nature and much more:

(Interspecies Communication Powered by Koko)

We need your help to continue developing Kids4Koko. This will inspire and empower many more kids like Chaz (featured in the above video) who wants to become a compassionate conservationist. Chaz studied Koko until he felt he knew her, and then captured what he saw and felt — her kindness and happy spirit — in a t-shirt.

We will be adding many new activities to Kids4Koko that enable all KIDS to become "Koko-Inspired Developing Scientists" and join in our quest to better understand our fellow great apes and protect Nature.

Thank you for helping us realize Koko's vision of a more "polite" and "loving" world!

Sincerely,

Penny

P.S. We hope you enjoy the Kids4Koko web app (see the "Visit Kids4Koko" button above) and support its continued development (click here) — together we can empower the next generation to succeed as stewards of the natural world.
