Collaborate

The Gorilla Foundation has accumulated 4 decades of multimedia research data — far more than we can analyze, interpret, and apply ourselves — and new data and opportunities for research are generated on a regular basis.

We are currently partnering with the following individuals on projects that are of mutual interest:

Professors Dieter Steklis, PhD and Netzin Steklis, University of Arizona
Project: Gorilla Emotional Awareness Research Study (GEARS)

Professor Joseph Erwin
George Washington University
Project: Learning from Michael  — A multidisciplinary study of the extraordinary abilities and brain structure of Michael, the silverback gorilla who grew up with Koko from the age of 3 and passed away in 2000 at the age of 27

If you would like to collaborate with the Gorilla Foundation on great ape “conservation through communciation” research or have an idea for a project that might benefit from access to our database, please contact us at: [email protected]
