When Penny asked Koko to do something different with her favorite squeak toy (the egg baby with protruding duck bill and feet), she decided to blow on it through a cardboard paper towel holder. Interesting, because blowing is a form of greeting that gorillas use, in a sort of silent “who” vocalization (for example, see the Koko meets Mister Rogers video clip on KokoTV). Note that this is the same “egg baby” that Koko and Ndume squeak to get each other”s attention, or to playfully harass one another (as many young couples do).
