Koko holds a mirror close to her chest so that she can see clearly while cleaning her teeth with a dental pick. Ever since her gum surgery (Aug. 2004) she’s been particularly vigilant about her dental health (occasionally reminded, of course, by Penny and the gorilla caregiver staff).
