Koko received lots of nice birthday cards and presents this year (July 4th) and is still processing them. While she can only read a few written words (it”s never been a designated goal of Project Koko), she loves to look at the cards anyway, especially the pictures. And caregivers will often either read or “sign” to Koko the text of some of the letters she receives.
And no, we are not thinking of teaching Koko to email, but perhaps she”d enjoy an iconic website that would let her navigate to her favorite photos, videos or videoconferences. (See apenet.org for a description of one prospective project like this.)
Note that Koko is wearing a red frizbee on her arm as a “bracelet.”
