Koko is wearing 2 necklaces here – and signing NECKLACE. One “necklace” she created from an orange and white tote bag made from recycled grocery bags (which Penny brought home from her presentation at the 2009 meeting of the American Society of Primatology). The other necklace is a green lei, which Penny gave Koko after a visit to the Maui Ape Preserve (MAP) site.
